Green Garden Juice

With the garden in full fledge, one of my favorite ways to get greens in my diet is by juicing! I like to bring a big basket to the garden and grab whatever is ripe and throw it in the juicer. The greener the better!

One of my favorites recipes for a green juice smoothie:

2 Celery sticks

2 small cucumbers

3 kale or romaine leaves

I’ll add either a green apple or a couple handfuls of pineapple to sweeten it up.

There are so many health benefits to juicing… for one, it’s a great way to ensure you’re eating enough vegetables each day. The process of juicing essentially extracts the liquid contained in fruits and vegetables so that you’re left with most of the vitamins, minerals and plant chemicals (phytonutrients) found in the whole fruit or veggie. These nutrients are so good for your skin, hair, eyes and overall health. Green juice smoothies are energizing and will reduce your risk of heart disease and cancer. And when you use fresh ingredients, they’re so delicious that even your kids will drink them!
